We are seeking an experienced and passionate environmental steward to become the first Executive Director of the Low Impact Alliance and lead our newly established Non-Profit (501c3) organization. The Executive Director will be responsible for overseeing the LIA's programs, operations, staff, and volunteers, as we do our part in lowering the running industry's collective environmental impact and ensuring that future generations have a healthy planet to run on.

Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and passionate environmental steward to become the first Executive Director of the Low Impact Alliance and lead our newly established Non-Profit (501c3) organization. The Executive Director will be responsible for overseeing the LIA's programs, operations, staff, and volunteers, as we do our part in lowering the running industry's collective environmental impact and ensuring that future generations have a healthy planet to run on.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement strategic plans to achieve the LIA's mission and goals.
Execute activities and events that put into action the vision and mission of the LIA.
Oversee the LIA's programs, day-to-day operations, staff and volunteers.
Build and maintain relationships with alliance members, sponsors, and partners.
Develop and manage the organization's budget, in collaboration with the Board of Directors.
Represent the LIA to the public and media.
Ensure compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications:
Experience in the Run Specialty Industry.
Experience/education in environmental stewardship, waste management, and circularity.
Experience in organizing and executing eco-friendly and zero waste events.
Experience as an Executive Director, Program Manager, Event Organizer, or similar role.
Strong leadership, management, and decision-making skills.
Excellent and inspiring communication, interpersonal, and public speaking skills.
Ability to develop and maintain relationships with key members, sponsors, and partners.
Strong financial management skills.
Exemplary passion for the mission and goals of the Low Impact Alliance.
More About the Role:
This full-time (40 hours a week), salaried position reports directly to the LIA's Board of Directors. The Executive Director will work remotely, travel domestically, and must be based in the U.S. The salary range for this role is $75,000 to $85,000 with a generous benefits package.
